Entegra Corporation recommends using Break-Over style torque wrenches to help prevent over-tightening of coaxial connectors. We currently offer a 5/16 inch wrench with a breaking force of 5 inch pounds, suitable for SMA, 2.92 mm, 3.5 mm, 2.4 mm, and 1.85 mm. Although 8 inch pounds is the recommended torque for several of these connectors, we have found that the connectors last longer if the 5 inch pounds is used without impacting performance or repeatability.
